  • 70.3 Cancun

I typically don’t race seven days after an Ironman, in fact I mock the young kids that can race that double but I wasn’t crazy sore the day after Wisconsin, as is usually the case.  My 7th place finish in Madison was about what I expected after an injury (calf/ Achilles) that took me out of running for several weeks.  My longest run the month leading up to Ironman had been 10 miles and I ran a total of 3 times the month before the race.

  • 70.3 World Championships - Gavin Anderson

The 70.3 world championship changed venue from Clearwater FL to Las Vegas NV, which was a welcome change for sure.  I can't say that I like Vegas it just seems dirty and gambling is not for me, but the course is great, set near lake Mead on the southeast edge of Las Vegas in a town called Henderson.  The course is meant to be tough hot, windy, and hilly, it did not disappoint.  I left for the race thursday night after work without the family in tow, they bailed after they realized there was an 11 hr drive involved.

  • Rev3 Cedar Point Race Report - Hillary Biscay

On Sunday, I had the pleasure of my first Rev3 iron-distance experience at Cedar Point, in Sanduky, Ohio. While I had heard a lot of great things about these events, I have to say that I was still struck by what a great production the Rev3 folks put on out there. Organization-wise, Cedar Point truly was the most athlete-friendly iron-distance event I have done in my 51. I just could not get over the fact that everywhere I turned, pre- and post-race, there seemed to be one or more Rev3 team members ready and waiting to help with whatever I might need. And I actually needed a lot of help post-race . . . but more on that in a minute.

  • Injury Report - Richie Cunningham

    Down, but not out.

So it's been 4 weeks since I broke my hip in the European 70.3 champs. I thought now would be a good time to send out an update on how things have been going and what I've been doing to recover. So here it goes:

  • Maimi 5150 race report - Brian Fleischmann

The 2011 season is in full swing now for me with the first race of the 5i50 series taking place this past weekend in Miami in which I competed in.  I had a good time with family and friends down in Miami.  I stayed in North Miami with Cameron Dye who is also a Kestrel/First Endurance athlete.  Both Cameron and I were happy to stay out of the chaos of downtown Miami and commute into the race on Sunday morning which was an easy 20 minute drive down Highway 1.

  • REV3 Costa Rica - Amanda Lovato

After having a solid block of training in Boulder for the past 10 weeks, I was ready and excited to race the REV3 Olympic distance in Costa Rica. In addition to racing, I was stoked to bring triathlon to Costa Rica by putting on a race preparation clinic with Richie Cunningham and my husband, Michael.  Meeting the rest of TEAM TRAKKERS was an additional bonus of our trip (our team planned its 2011 launch, so that all eleven members were present).
